CONCORD, Mass--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 3, 2003--
As Part of Altima's NetZoom Certified Manufacturers Program, Crossbeam Will Provide Customers With Popular Equipment Shapes for Network Design and Planning
Crossbeam Systems(R), Inc., a leading global developer of total security solutions required for safer, simpler enterprise and carrier networks, today announced that it has partnered with Altima Technologies, Inc., the leader in network diagramming solutions, as a member of Altima's NetZoom(TM) Certified Manufacturers Program. Through this alliance, Altima will provide Crossbeam customers with a complimentary copy of a Crossbeam-specific version of NetZoom for Visio, an industry-leading network design program, and NetZoom Stencils(TM) for Visio. Both versions include Crossbeam's 15 most popular equipment shapes for use in network design and planning.
These NetZoom products will enable Crossbeam customers to quickly and easily design and plan their networks in Visio. An interactive system accessed via a no-charge download link on the Crossbeam Systems Web site provides users with shapes of the company's products for simple and quick integration into system layouts. In addition to its ease-of-use, current NetZoom customers cite detailed, accurate equipment shapes and continuous updates as benefits of the technology.
"Crossbeam has developed powerful solutions that keep enterprise and carrier networks simple, safe and cost-effective. Our alliance with Altima further emphasizes that focus on simplicity and control," said Mat Mathews, director of product management at Crossbeam Systems. "NetZoom gives our customers the ability to diagram their networks with speed and ease, eliminating the complicated processes generally associated with drawing network documentation."
Crossbeam solutions compress traditional security infrastructures from racks of disparate networking equipment into the X40(TM), a single, highly available security services switch that offers superior levels of performance, return on investment and ease-of-management. Crossbeam customers have saved hundreds of thousands of dollars in capital and operational expenses by implementing Crossbeam's technology. Customers choose best-of-breed security engines--such as intrusion protection, firewall, VPN, anti-virus and Web filtering--from Crossbeam's select vendors to integrate with Crossbeam's patent-pending technologies on a single, high-performance appliance, the Crossbeam X40. This single-box, highly available solution provides customers with unprecedented control over, and significant savings from, a consolidated security infrastructure.
Utilizing Altima Technologies' proprietary NetZoom software, the availability of Visio shapes for Crossbeam products is the latest addition to the more than 50,000 vendor-specific equipment symbols from more than 1,100 network equipment manufacturers currently available to data and telecommunications professionals via NetZoom.
