Intergraph and Altima Deliver Network Equipment Symbols for IELE
Users
Extends Imagination EngineerTM LE capabilities |
| HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Nov. 16, 1998 - Intergraph Corporation
and Altima Technologies, Inc. have partnered to extend the diagramming capabilities
of Imagination Engineer LE, (IELE), Intergraph's 2D precision design and
drawing tool, by delivering a generic library of network equipment iShapes
at no cost to registered IELE users. |
| Altima Technologies, Inc., an emerging leader in the development
of intelligent network equipment shapes, specifically created this set of
iShapes for Imagination Engineer LE. iShapes are based on
a multi-state architecture designed to embed the various elements and characteristics
of network equipment. Software applications can leverage iShapes
by inheriting the embedded information to create true network visualization
and documentation. In IELE, the iShapes allow users to draw, design
and document their network. This is a powerful feature for network professionals,
as they need to represent the true network. Additionally, iShapeTM
technology takes advantage of vector-based graphics, resulting in
increased rendering speed on the screen, reduced memory and the ability
to contain greater detail in a small file format. A set of iShapes
for IELE Version 2 is available for download from the Imagination Engineer

of network equipment iShapes for Imagination Engineer LE 3.0, which
will take advantage of port level data and information. The library will
feature iShapes and include equipment from all popular vendors including
3COM, Cisco, Nortel Networks, Cabletron, IBM, Hewlett Packard, ADC Kentrox,
Telect, Rad Data and Compaq. The vendor-specific library will be available
for purchase early next year. |
| Imagination Engineer LE, a limited edition of ImagineerTM
Technical, Intergraph's award-winning 2D parametric CAD tool, bridges the
gap between the technical and business office. IELE is only available on
Microsoft's Windows 98 Resource Kit. Imagination Engineer LE can be installed
on a Windows NT server and deployed without limit throughout the corporation,
making it the most cost-effective solution available for sharing graphical
