Sales Manager
The position of the Sales Manager is an executive sales role responsible for an internal sales team driven to a common goal of closing software sales with existing and prospective companies.
The Sales Manager will be responsible for prospecting and following up on direct sales opportunities through their team’s self-directed efforts, as well as selling through a partner channel, while meeting monthly and quarterly quotas. This person must be located around Chicago area.
Sell software products and services.
Operate independently and effectively manage the sales cycle from opportunity identification through close while leveraging resources that includes Engineers, Channel Managers, and Professional Services.
Sell through a partner channel and manage partner relationships.
Give presentations on technical software to CIOs, VPs and technical managers.
Manage relationships with VPs and C-level executives.
Continue account management for the life of each account after the sale to ensure long-term customer satisfaction.
Produce professional-quality email and other written communication with key executives.
Meet quota and other targeted metrics.
Candidate will be familiar with software licenses, maintenance and professional services contracts, and sourcing procedures.
At least two years of software sales experience.
Relevant experience in selling through inside sales and a partner channel.
Proven ability to call on senior business leaders including VP and CIOs.
Experience in the data center (DCIM) market is preferred.
Strong ethical standards demonstrated through honesty and integrity in dealings with customers and others.
Strong communication skills, including presentation, writing, and email skills.
Experience with Microsoft Office products.
